Try the XC70 as well. I have both and think the XC70 is the more comfortable and is certainly quicker when accelerating .

Graham, Sorry to learn of the demise of your tintop, but the good news is it protected you. Can't comment on replacement, the last large Volvo I drive was a 240 Estate (apart from the C30 that broke after 11 months). Still fancy one of those big old 240s

Glad everyone is happy with their v70 s I Spent a large part of my life working for Volvo starting with body design for 850 (which became the V70)

Many sincere thanks to each and every one of you kind fellow Morgan (and Volvo) owners. Its a bummer to lose the Volvo but I dread to think what the outcome would have been in the Mog. I have been nervous on the roads since and not touched my Royal Ivory conveyance. Submitted claim forms out for Allianz Plc. Hope to get some compensation for personal injury too but am told that can take six to twelve months. So far so good and browsing the net for a Volvo replacement (with limited funds).

A friend of mine recently replaced his V70 with a BMW 5 series estate.
He couldn't believe how far technology had moved on!!!

What a nightmare for you... glad you're ok. What was the reason she was driving on the wrong side of the road? I read your blog and thought one posting said 'semen for soggy chips'. Oops!

Driving on the wrong side of the road? If you drive around Budleigh Salterton or Sidmouth it is a common sight; along with not stopping at junctions or parking 4 feet from the kerb.

I think I'll bring the Land Rover for the next visit "down south"! I wonder if Bovington do vehicle hire...

A friend of mine recently replaced his V70 with a BMW 5 series estate.
He couldn't believe how far technology had moved on!!!  And a friend of mine has a 5 series which needed a replacement timing chain and I understand that some use oil in excess. My Volvo had none such issues and ran faultlessly throughout 100,000 plus miles in my hands.
