Mr B......yes and you came to mind when they parked up!

Jim....yes and no. All the steering geometry was checked and found ok. The alloy wheels though did not run true and had been balanced only on the inside rim which the factory felt didn't help matters.
They rebalanced with some weights on the outer rim...not so nice but they have eased the problem substantially. On smooth roads the shimmy has gone at up to 90 but is there a little on rougher surfaces.
I'm told that the factory alloys are pretty variable in construction...some are ok others not so. They also say that the 3.0 Roadsters suffer more with shimmy due to engine weight and location although I don't know how true this is.
Depending on how I get on I might source a set of Minilites for the car which will be more accurately made.

Minilites are available with splined hubs - heavier than spoked wheels though...

Took a run to Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Fascinating place currently undergoing conservation at a cost of £20m.

If your car takes wires....yes....and as G says, pretty heavy they are too. Mine would be bolt on ones which are much lighter!

Good to hear it is better as my 2008 Roadster did suffer a lot of shimmy. Changing tyres and re balancing has cured 90% of mine but still not perfect. Look forward to hearing if the new wheels make it perfect. my wheels are wires so don't know if new wheels will cure mine.

Jim.
