On the subject of ott watches. I acquired this one when still working in the bike industry.
Never actually worn it. A trifle sudden for my taste!

ps. Can someone tell me why the photo is the right way up when viewed on my iPhone, but on its side when viewed on my PC? - Photo was taken and posted via my iPhone

Not my cup of tea.

The image, by the way, is oriented correctly.

I think generally motor sport themed watches tend to be a bit OTT and a big ugly in my eyes

There are a few exceptions

Tag Heuer have retained some classic looking Heuer watches, The Monza and Monaco comes to mind and a few of the more classic looking Chopard Mille Miglia are OK (some verge on a ugliness)

Also quite like the new Tudor Fastrider and of course the Rolex Daytona that seems to have kept its classic clean looks

It seems to be something with watch designers and chronographs, I think they just get a bit giddy using too many colours and modern numeral typefaces squashing more detail into already busy dials thinking they would appeal to those lusting after modern motorbikes or fast cars

I wear a watch to tell the time: normally a Seiko and i don't expect to pay more than £200. If it dies I buy a new one.

My next one may well be this Seiko Pilot for £169.

I do like the IWC Pilots watch but £3500?
Really?
I'd rather buy a new set of wheels for Tarka....

Simon,

Tim (Hamwich) said you need to take the photo with the phone upright. Your iPhone automatically corrects on screen (so do iPads) so to you it looks correct - unless you view from a non-Mac product... Apparently!
Info from another thread where the same problem was discussed. smile

I quite like that Ducati one grin2

P.S. a very nice Laverda 750 SFC at Prescott Breakfast Club earlier. I'll post a photo (somewhere) later.

I rather like that.
My next will definitely use off air signal for timekeeping and may even be solar powered. It will be in a similar price range too. Cannot justify £000 on a timepiece.
My current Russian "military", nice though it is, does require time correction most days. Sometimes I miss out on the self winding bit too and suddenly find it has stopped...

I guess with being a trad Morgan owner, I'm not the 'target market' for modern looking sport watches

Now you've gone all purple glue bonded, modern fangled, aluminium chassis and suspension, it might be right up your street Steve wink

Why not drop BIG HINTS to your Company just before you retire? After all, it is customary (and they are unlikely to present you with a set of wheels)
