Stewart, not sure I'd want a bezel on my instrument, chrome or otherwise hide

I can see this is quite an old discussion so hopefully someone will respond. But, exactly the same issue in that I would like to replace the black bezels on the VDO gauges on my ‘96 Plus 4 with chrome replacements. I’ve also decided to take the easier route and silicon Smiths bezels rather than attempt to source actual VDO replacements. My question is, what profile bezel do I need - full or half V are available. Most appreciative of any advice that can be proffered...😊

I would just buy one of each as a sample to try a physical 'test fit' with those, and pick from that

Well I've decided to cheat as I don't have the balls or the engineering skill to do it properly

Inspired by Cain's 'stick on' warning light bezels and also because I saw FellMogs Andrew's Plus 8 with VDO instruments having these very same Smiths bezels on last weekend which looked great.

Old VDO instruments bezels are not like Smiths in that they are not easily removed or replaced -it's quite a tricky job so I decided to stick some Smiths ones on over the top with silicone

Bought a set off EBay and removed the tabs with some snips and polished off any resultant burr with my WorkSmart sharpener

I've just had a conversation with a Morgan Friend about this post from back in 2016 on putting chrome bezels on VDO instrumnets and I've managed to find the thread so I'm quoting it to put it to resurect it into Active Threads so it can be easily found

I sold this Morgan back in late 2017 but putting chrome bezels on the instruments much improved the dash so if this inspires anyone else to have a go, all the better
