When the S1 was in production someone made drilled discs and 6 pot caliper conversions. I have searched fruitlessly to no avail for these. Perhaps someone on here will remember?

We made a 350mm 6 pot upgrade kit for the S1 at Mulfab, we only ever sold a couple of sets so didn't continue it.

The S1 front discs are Morgan specific and are one casting, with directional vents. This means that one disc is rotating "the wrong way" for its vents to work properly and this can cause overheating issues and warping. However, its more likely as mentioned earlier in this thread, that there is a pad shadow or pickup on the disc where the car has been standing. This causes an inconsistent friction surface as the pad shadow is more "grabby" than the disc itself. This causes brake judder and can feel like a warped disc.

I frequently bead blast the discs on the racecars to remove any trace of pad material build up, especially if I am trying out different pad materials.

A light skim should remove the problem

How much where these kits?
I know the GTN has upgraded brakes.. what was the difference?

Thanks Simon smile

The kits were about £1350 + VAT
If there's enough interest I'll remake some kits....

The GTN doesn't have uprated brakes. They are identical to a normal S1 Aero

That's interesting, I thought they looked the same size but everyone I have spoken to has said different - good to know.
Perhaps the ultimate bean counting method is to say its uprated but don't bother laugh2

I would be interested in a kit, but not for a year or so - moving house is rather expensive! smile

I bought 2 sets of these discs about 4 years ago, a set for me and my Bro. Can't remember how much or where from but Mulfab rings a bell.

Are the std units one piece of are mine extra special as I have bells etc?

Yes, I have the vents but no ducting

Sounds to me like having some two piece discs made up with the correct venting hole direction would go quite well with the standard calipers then?

Might be a very cost effective "upgrade"..

That's what the picture shows...
Those are the Mulfab standard diameter replacement 2 piece discs that I designed when I worked there
