Steve,
when lights come up on modern cars I always think of the older cars I owned where that just wouldn't happen.

What would you have a red charging light and maybe an oil pressure light.

Happy days. Enjoy the brutatlity & simplicity of the AH.
John

Thank you John. Yes fairly simple but enjoying it very much, considering the lack of technical gizmos it drives really well. It shows that carbs, points and pushrods don't do that bad a job!
And greasing only every 3000 mls !
Time will tell if it needs more attention than the plus4.

if the car runs well, suspect the sensor(s). I had a similar but less regular problem with my Roadster; replacing sensor sorted it

Thanks for the input chaps,
i'm going to first try a tank of proper Shell petrol and if that doesn't work have a sensor change. I could always put a bit of insulation tape over the offending light on the dash i suppose.

Just a reminder that my 05 Roadster shows weak lambda at MOT time, which this year I improved by replacing the K&N air filter with the original filter.
So far I haven't had the engine warning light (touch wood) but I use Shell V Power whenever possible.

I was under the impression that it needed more attention around the fuel filler cap! hide

Oh you are right there J, the fuel filler will probably be the first thing to wear out!
but if I'd taken it to caramulo at least the fuel stops could have been better aligned with the pee stops!

I guess the fuel consumption is one of the downsides of old fashioned technology.. The gizmos do at least offer better mpg, usually. Still can't have everything eh.

And you worry?
I was chatting to Martyn Webb at Prescott on Saturday - reckons he doesn't bet much more than 14mpg from his Healey - admittedly it's completion spec and on triple carbs... smile
