Is it just me or does any spirited acceleration end up with smoke and wheelspin and no forward momentum!!!

I commuted once since I got it. Didn't get anything done the second half of the day because i was giving rides. Since then I've been stopped several times in the hall by people who didn't get a ride, asking when I'm bringing it back in.

Good thing the higher ups are all car guys.

My wheel spinning has slowed down dramatically since having to change out my first clutch pack assembly!

Things I heard on my 90 minute drive today:
"Is that a real car? It's magnificent!"
"What is it? (Explained). It's awesome."
"I have never seen anything like this. Wonderful" (biker on a Hayabusa)
"Do you take that on the expressway?"

My wife and I did about a hundred miles yesterday, it was glorious even though the weather was threatening the entire time. A leaky rocker cover spewed oil onto the windshield which made driving at night not very fun. I don't think back road driving on a busy two-lane road will ever be much fun in that car, the oncoming headlights you square in the face.

After too long away working had a superb run yesterday up Deeside through the Forest of Birse, over Glen Gairn and Glenshee to Perthshire and today came back up the main road to Aberdeen but with a side track off up Glen Esk. Sunshine, warm dry roads...another typical Scottish weekend on the roads.

On the Milton road, above Tarfside, Glen Esk.

Yesterday the MOG club in NZ had a cruise to Port Waikato with its rugged West coast black sand shore. Lovely time refuelling the inner person before a more direct trip back to the car park known as Auckland.
A dozen cars including a 1936 flat rad recently restored.
Just the one 3wheeler (H3NRI) and made it without anything breaking or falling off!

My first long distance trip in rain. Done well avoiding it for 4000 miles but needed to make a 135 mile trip today.

Not as bad as expected with both mixed roads and traffic, despite roads being wet for the whole journey and rain in varying quantities for 60% of the time plus strong head winds!

Lesson's learnt:

Rain-X plastic water repellent applied just before setting off worked really well on my Fairbourne screen. Allows water to form into droplets that just blow away when rain subsides.

Any steering lock at all when powering out of roundabouts will have the back end twitching.

Kept warm and dry except for outside leg where it rests against trim. Water trikles down the inside. By the time I noticed this it was too late to put on waterproof trowsers.

Water puddles under floor mats, particularly on passenger side although my rucksack slotted into footwell stayed dry.

Despite all this enjoyed the journey smile
