My driver side carpet, rubber section is worn and I would like to replace it as the rest of the carpet (and the rest of the car) is mint (well red really but in mint condition). Does anyone know of someone who can do this in West Midlands area?

There is a trim shop close to you (Aldridge rings a bell) that featured on the TV car restoration show with Fuzz Townsend.....Rob Heap knows the place I think and may be along with an answer? Other whose Google for 'Classic Car Trim' West Mdlands or pop along to Allon Whites near Bedford about 2 hours from you down the M1.
Good luck

To save my mats I just cut out some very thin black carpet and double-sided tape it to the mat - just inside the leather trim. I use really cheap thin industrial strength carpet - then every year or so I use the old one as a template, cut out a new one and stick it on. Much better grip than the rubber. A cheap solution that preserves the original mat or covers up any wear & tear.

In my last Morgan I unpicked the rubber mat from the carpet - it's only generic mat cut to shape, and replaced it with a new piece which I fixed to the carpet using soft-top press studs.
So then it could be popped off for cleaning.
Any local trimmer can make up an edged carpet but black is easiest to get.

I know that I am very heavy on the floor mats so I ordered a spare set with the car. Perhaps the factory should include this in the options list.
