I often wonder what happens to these new potential buyers? Members take their time to type alot of information then silence. Not even a follow up acknowledgement ! Perhaps a information page so all the advice can be found in one place.

Welcome.
The good news is that there are a few to choose from, drive them and find out as the others say. Also the value of a maintained model tends to remain constant so you can progress through them without dropping a fortune over time as they do have different characters.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Welcome Big Al and good luck in your search.
I see you are in Surrey so Bell & Colvill will be worth a call - I believe they have a couple of +8s arriving shortly.

Sorry for late response gentlemen - work getting in the way of pleasure - but wanted to thank everyone for the great advice to this point. I live to the West of London so my plan is to get myself around to Bell and Coalville, SGT and Richard Thorn over the coming few weeks and get to do some serious research.
To this point my actual ride experience has beem limited to a friend's 4/4 four seater so will be interesting to try to compare. I am definitely prepared to wait for the right car and hear the good advice that whilst I need to put some miles and hours in, the car will probably in the end find me.
My 'ideal' car in my minds eye at least would be an Ivory coloured +8 with wire wheels and walnut trim but I realise life is always a compromise and hear the perspective that accessories can always be added later.
Again thanks for the advice so far - I have always used forums for my previous classic car ownership and find the advice of members invaluable - clearly this group is no different.

Hi Al, welcome to the forum. As you are a big man you might want to add getting in and out of the car with the roof up when you are out testing cars. Good luck with your search.

Welcome BigAl. Hope you find YOUR car soon. Try out different methods for getting in and out of the car! Never feel embarassed at what you settle on. There was a thread here some time ago where methods for getting in and out were described. Nice to see your preference for a proper Morgan too....8 is the magic number!

Hi Al, welcome to the forum. As you are a big man you might want to add getting in and out of the car with the roof up when you are out testing cars. Good luck with your search. I'm 6'02" 15 stone size 12 feet. No problem getting in or out. It's technique, eg bum in first, load left foot then right. Get the steering wheel size that suits your frame. good luck Ps I don't drive in wellies !

Crikey - did you need an angle grinder, hammer, crow bar and power drill to get the Speedo ever out?😁
