For those lads who read my tat here's something nice One young gentleman who I keep in touch with asked how things where going and I sent him a Trump joke . But life is life and one firm tried to pull a fast one , but has not won . For a moment or more you loose your faith in people , but not all people are the same THANK GOODNESS . I have been working my bits off the last few days and just about to get it all done when the postie walks in . Hands me a large package !!!!!!!!!!!!! and some letters . Glanced at the writing and address on the package its from a mog owner . Dont know if you can remember I wrote of a owner from Alaska living in Pisa USA army camp a civy with a MOG . He asked if I minded him doing a bit of a coping my mog , not at all . As things progressed he was coming over to see the Flying Scotsman . So we met up and he stayed at our home and what we liked he made himself welcome also a long time with his camera in the garage looking at mog and stuff on walls reg plates etc etc . June came down stairs first and Tom had made himself a mug of tea ( biggest mug )thats what we loved . Anyway that's enough of that . He said he was going back to Alaska from Italy and had to change the ref plates . The package has a special army plate for the USA Army in Italy along with an Alaskan plate . Tom has the only Mog in Alaska but can only use it three months of the year weather is that bad Brave man . Wonder what the top speed is if you see a Grizzly no not the mog the person. So it made my day nice people and not so nice and more nice than the other we just don't talk or hear enough about them . I did think about the flying Scotsman but not a hope in hell of getting it through his letter box . If you are reading this TOM thank you very much , they will go up on the wall not sure as to ware yet . John.

It is another important part of Morgan ownership for me, getting together and sharing the experience with fellow Morganeers.

Owners like the cars are easy to like there is something special about them all (in a good way mostly) - once you share your car details the rest is easy . Besides you are such a sharer of your stories that we all enjoy.

John - you're very welcome. It's great to be back in Alaska after 7 years in Italy. You could say there's a bit of culture shock but we're adjusting. The moose was in the yard, the Northern Lights were out and we've had plenty of snow, it's not all bad but it's certainly not Tuscany I did locate another MOG here, burgandy and black, I haven't met the gentleman but we conversed, he has several 2CV's and other oddities. My MOG ran well from the shipping yard home - 80MPH cruising nicely but hasn't been out much since. It's hibernating until spring when work will continue sorting out the dual webers. Like many TMer's I appreciate steam and found a project that is not only rewarding but educational and a great bunch to work with. We volunteer up to 4 days a week and the goal is 2 years and she'll be running excursions. http://557.alaskarails.org/index.html Being a mechanical engineer the work is facinating never having the opportunity to do anything like this unfortunately I lack most of the necessary shop skills but I'm learning. I stay up with TM observing from afar and extend a welcome to any TMer to come visit the great state of Alaska, I can put you up in style (Alaskan)

That looks an interesting restoration Tom. Have fun with it I have bookmarked the site for further perusal and keeping an eye on progress My niece was over in Alaska earlier this year. She seems to wander all over the world...

Richard I often wonder some mog owners must live in caves locked away . Or they dare not say what they got up to as a lad . I said to June when we married hang on life will never be dull she thinks I'm cracked, must be I love her to bits . I can't believe all Morgan owners were all compliant do gooders really can you ? Why would you chose a Morgan. Very little of what we got up to was illegal (scrumping) or hurt others that was the good thing.

Camping out in the fields eating roast spuds and anything you had stolen from the allotments . Then ending up with a bad stomach . Now when I think of it the amount of work the gardeners put in no wonder they hated us pea pods and strawberries in at the same time playing football in the streets or knocking on doors with a roll of cotton from over the road . One lad was stealing turnips and the farmer shot him in the bum his rifle was loaded with rice . He said it stung like hell along with trying to get a snog off the girls I SAID TRYING . Then telling your mates lies. My old made who past away told me he was going out with a girl and her father was a right old grump so they hid in the outside coal house for a snog and he still caught them . Here's one that will make you chuckle about 1967 I was with my mates all in dads van . Went to a pub outside a caravan park , after they had a few they went into the caravan park I left the van near the pub. With those lot it was not long before they had got the smell of young girls up there nostrils and home in . Three girls in a big caravan and us outside, the window was high up all my mates where tall and stood chatting them up . I could not reach so could not get a word in . Kept asking for a hand and was told "no way" . Would they hell help me to busy chatting away . Then we heard a shout in a loud hard voice it was their dad running over to us with his large alsatian . Zoom we off running between the caravans like hell . They all had long legs and started to leave me behind . I could feel the dogs breath on my neck then all of a sudden the three of them fell down , woosh I flashed past them and ran to the van . Opened it jumped in and lay down in the back , after a good while bang bang bang the three Amigos shouting lets us in you ?")+FM^(#% . I was . They told me as they ran between the caravans had not seen a washing line from van to van and ran into it all three ending on the ground . Got one hell of a ear bashing off the bloke . I ran under the line . Could not stop laughing at the lanky idiots the rest of the nights . Oddly we stopped using that park to look for girls
