Dont know about the Morgan bit but I am coming round to Neilda's point of view despite living close to the Brecon beacons and Top Gear test drive country.

Modern perfomance cars have so much power ( they start at double what the E type ever had) and are so ballistically fast that they are unuseable on public roads. Or at least owning one can be likened to buying pints of beer and only ever drinking the top half of the glass. And they are so technically complicated that maintenance has to be a specialist job and a likely nightmare as they get older. So I am gradually coming round to the idea of a less powerful car and one from an older generation that has no or very limited electronics.

When all you can realistically do on the roads is to pootle along, you need a pootle car. Is that a Morgan?

I believe the correct expression down in Cornwall is: "Quality will improve drekly".

I wholeheartedly agree with this.
With a Morgan you can 'pootle' along at 45mph and no-one will harass you.
Change that for a Porsche 911, as a friend has, and you just can't do that, especially on the public highways of the UK. A fast car does not do 'pootle'.

A Morgan for me was the ideal way into Britain's motoring heritage and class.
It has all the attributes of an iconic, British, hand-crafted, historic, classic and timeless car that's both affordable and so much fun to drive.

There is nothing finer for me than pootling along the lanes of Devon and in particular Dartmoor it is the ideal car.

On occasion on the highway you can still surprise a few with the V8 if you feel the need they are still relevant in todays traffic speeds when necessary 46 years on.

The other thing is most people let you in in traffic which is a bonus , you wouldn't get that in a tintop !

Very true - when I was still working a female colleague of mine bought a BMW estate due to increasing family, she came back into work after her first day in the field and announced that she knew what it was like now to be a Beamer owner - nobody let her out and cut her up in traffic not a a good experience, she returned to VW within the month.

We had all pulled her leg and said everyone will think you are a girl in blue in that as Somerset has loads of them on the M5/4 areas.

Mildly eccentric; fun to drive; fun to tour in and they make people smile.
