I was looking at the User List the other day and sorted it by the Total Posts.

There are one or two who have never posted anything but continue to log in but the vast majority signed up and their last log-in was the same day that they joined. In fact more than half our members have never posted and there are many who almost fall into the same category having posted once and then have disappeared. In fact I also see that many who have posted only once have done so on the same day that they joined and have never been seen again.

Peter been spotting that a few years and wonder why they bother ! . Yet I do at times think I over do it . But I blame it on Simon its like a drug once you start its hard to stop . It should come with a health warning and told to ware incontinent pants for some of those jokes.

That's a coincidence, I was looking by Last login yesterday and was similarly amazed.

One user joined, spent 30 minutes making 4 posts and then never logged in again. Quite curious.

It is odd I wonder why they bother.

By looking at the other end of the list, I note that there are now four members of the Inner Circle!!

I think your point is well made.

Given that quite a number of members joined some time ago (some over 5 years ago) but have never posted at all maybe there should be a cut off in terms of time and lack of use etc.

As a starter for ten:

If a user registers but does not post within 6 months then the membership is automatically cancelled. After all, why would you join a forum such as this and then not introduce yourself with an opening post?

If an existing member (who has previously posted) does not log in at all over a 12 month period then the membership is automatically cancelled.

Perhaps a bit of housekeeping would tidy up the data base?

This is going to read as "me too" but, honestly I have just found this list and like others I am amazed at the numbers of so called members who haven't contributed since their initial joining.
Perhaps they got the info they wanted or decided they didn't want a Morgan as there seems to be a number of initial enquiries about Morgans to which members reply with loads of info after which the person concerned just goes away.

Maybe we should make these New people more welcome??

I think it's just they way it is. This site is very welcoming but I think like most things in life, you only get out what you put in after all, look at all you have done and the response you have received.
