Since Morgan will only build it once, I'm happy to wait.
Will
Statement of fact or fond hope? Yeah, quite.... well, the factory have given a drop-dead date for my spec... so moving from fiction towards fact

I too would be interested to learn how many new customer Aeros have actually been delivered. I paid my deposit in March '15 with a then estimated build date of week 7/16. since then I've been given a further 5 'estimated' dates. Confirmed my spec back in mid June when working at that time to a build start date of week 29 - 18th July... but it's shifted twice even since then and I'm currently working to week 35!
On that basis Jimmyp I wouldn't get too excited about a January delivery...
LWH Just received confirmation that my car is finally in build as of earlier this week, although I've also been told to not expect delivery for another 8 weeks anyway. I believe they had hoped to ramp up production to 5 a day but currently only managing 2.... how can they have miscalculated so badly... as has been said must severely impact on their cash-flow...

I don't buy the reduced production rate story - because I only started hearing it in June/July, when another delay was "announced". Before that, 2.5 cars a week was the going rate: none other was mentioned.
I say *announced*... I was at the factory, and asked about my car... there was a very (very) long pause, and eventually a letter was produced. A single paragraph, unsigned. Undated.
Now, for my sins, I've written a lot & been published a little. I know a hurried piece of writing when I see one. This delay letter was emphatically not a carefully considered message to valuable customers. More in the line of "Oh sh*t, what do we tell this guy outside - and all the others who are waiting patiently?"
So my read is that the delays, which seem to have come in 5-week cycles, are driven by a QA/design/engineering/fit/test process. And nothing to do with the weekly build rate. I 'm not sure who could ever have thought that "we want to build your cars quickly, but can't" was a good message to put out.
"Fast" was never a consideration for me. I've always wanted my car built once, properly.

The wait is over (almost)!
I'm assured my new Aero is on its way north.... so all things being equal, i.e. Tracker and Sump Guard fitting, I'll finally be behind the wheel early next week....
it's been a long and at times hugely frustrating journey since first paying my deposit in March '15 and with, at that time, an estimated build start date of week 7/16 and here we are at week 46/16 and it has only just left the factory... I just hope actual ownership is a lot less fraught!
Anyway, I've posted a few photos in the gallery.....

Lucky you! A long wait, but it should be worth it. What sumpguard are you fitting? (Apologies if it's mentioned earlier in the thread - I haven't looked back).

To be honest, I've no idea what Sump Guard is being fitted - my dealer pretty much said he wouldn't let me drive it without it being fitted! I believe he may have sourced one through a 'pet' engineer local to him.

Taking a positive outlook..... Maybe it is not a bad thing that there have been delays. If there were issues being found then isn't it better to sort them before customer delivery? I think the M3W suffered a bit of this so hopefully MMC have made a positive move. Let's hope it filters down from the "flagship" car to all models. The only real issue I see though is a lack of communication to buyers. Publicised delays might have created negativity but if done correctly then no real issue. The car is growing on me having had a good look at one in the flesh.
