Dave,
I see. I wonder if I could splice in and run the lead down to the bottom like yours and put in a switch in to swap between the two lamps?
Cheers,

Hook, yes you could, and I considered a changeover switch, but because you unplug and remove the 'luggage light' is there any point in having a switch? laugh2

have you tried vehicle-wiring-products.eu based in Ilkeston, they are a good source of connectors, cable and sleeving etc, saved me a small fortune when a mouse munched the fuel injection wires on my wife's Panda, they supplied injection connectors and stuff needed to splice a repair rather than buy new engine-loom

That's a great source thanks Graham. I think I can see my way forward now and Dave is right, all I need is two connectors to swap between the two lights. A switch is a bit pointless. Bit of a slow learner but got there with your help!
Many thanks.

Presumably, this is to go with the neoprene? laugh2
I'm more into the split corrugated round trunking grin2
There will be more going into RTA when I get to fitting real Lucas rear fog light...
The front, at the bulkhead end, which takes front spots, horn wiring etc. still needs tidying. I guess one day I shall be looking at rewiring the lot...

Cheers,

I had a run out this morning woohoo , and as promised, took a few photos. camera

First - here is the back of the light unit now there's a neoprene layer to cover the wiring.

You can see how cold & damp it was - the sidescreens were misting up.

And here's the rear view. And the end of this story.

HI I've been building something similar and struggling to find a suitable lamp unit. MUight I ask where you sourced this one from?
