I cannot believe how quick the build has gone. Was planning a couple of visits looks like only the once now, just finished paint into the trim shop next week. Bank accounts got a serious kicking spend but hey you can't it with you, will be taking a few camera so looking forward to the tour currently looking at registrations for her. crazy2

What will your break in procedure be? I am breaking in a rebuilt TR powered +4. 500 miles below 50 MPH, re tighten head and then go to beat hell and loosen it up fast. Not sure this is a good idea on a New Morgan. Maybe not a good idea on a rebuilt old engine. But, so far, I get a pretty good engine but not a pretty long life engine. I will change oil every 500 miles to about 2,000 miles. Oil with ZDDP added.

Modern engines really don't need any running in these days.

Especially if they get sensible oil changes at 5k miles or so. The stupidly large 10k+ intervals quoted for cars these days are mainly about appealing to fleet managers to give low running costs.

I'm not so sure Tim. Most cars probably get scrapped well before their engines wear out. Modern oils are that much better at protection these days.

Yes you underseal a car to keep it a long time but it is probable that when it is 8 or 10 years old an electronic fault say the ECU will make it uneconomic to repair or no one will have the kit to repair it.

Make that 20 years after the part goes out of production, at least for German vehicles. German consumer law, I believe.

Although as you say, cars don't really need "running in" these days, I still feel it is wise to take it easy for the first 1000 or so if only to bed the tyres and brakes in.

Here for a good time not a long time!!
