Good champion. Showed consistency albeit in a superior car. I don't think he is the best "racer" but a class act.
At 31 he still has options.
He could become number 2 at Williams.......

In the news today...
Lauda is not amused at the sudden retirement. He is unhappy that Merc now have to find a new driver this late, many having signed contracts. He says he has had many calls from F1 drivers already.
He added that if Hamilton had won the championship then Rosberg said he would have carried on. He thinks Rosberg could have at least toldhis team bosses of the potential options early enough to help.
He states Rosberg has made Mercedes "look dumb".
So......I wonder who will come in now?

I do think that Hamilton said it all when he said " It's the first time he's done it in eighteen years" in a recent interview.
Playing second fiddle to Hamilton's arrogance over that long must have been trying. As I've already said, I'm no fan of Rosberg, but I also must say that he's gone up in my estimation since the end of the last race.
If Mercedes didn't see it coming - well, some might say that was complacency. Surely the signs were there.

As an Austrian I have to say that Lauda is the last one to criticise Nico.
Lauda has had exactly the same experience and he himself mentioned once " the "stupidity to drive in circles" before he left the F1 circus and came back later.

Nico is a class act, good luck to him in the future. Speaking about the future, the most worrying now is that Wolff character saying Mercedes is considering hiring a number 2 driver. I stopped watching F1 in the Schumacher era when it became apparent that no team mate could question his God given right to victory. If that's the way it goes now, all the power to Red Bull and Ferrari (and Williams and McLaren), all the gremlins to the silver arrows, may they find themselves last in the WCC standings by this time next year!

They called me but I explained that I would probably crush Hamilton, and they wouldn't want that. When Lauda asked if I was being just a little bit cocky my reply was: Compare me to the current world champion: 31 years? Lol, 52 here! 1 kid? 5! 0 Morgans? 2! (that's when they asked me to stop. I guess they realized I was out of their reach!)

As long as they use 4 wheels for F1 instead of 3 I'm also not willng to compete.
