I just knew someone on here would beat me to it. Might i enquire which batteries did you go for and what capacity?

So, is your PV configured to provide power to the house if the mains shuts off, or is this part of the battery back-up system?
I should do some research, but as two of you are already on the case? smile

Graham,
if the grid goes down my PV shuts down as it need to know the Hz of the mains to feed to it.

If you add batteries & store power I understood you would not get the Feed in Tariff payment from the energy provider.

So I have switch that put excess power into heating the hot water & when that is done it feeds the grid.

This time of year we talk 1-2 kWhr per day only. Summer can see 25 kWhr.

My 3kW array is rated at 3064kWhr p.a. YTD 2016 we are at 3225. Best achieved was 3335 & the worst 3084.

Ah.
Mine shuts down also, for same reason. I was curious about the backup.
I'll have to dig out my spreadsheet for total generation from our 2.3kW system...

1 My PV only stops when the sun don't shine.

2 If the battery is AC coupled, you don't lose FiT.

I have an additional battery inverter.

Not this Peter!
Having had a really good look at one it is just too big.
I want a car the size of the CLC, an interesting 3 door hatchback with descent performance.
Seems there is nothing on the market other than perhaps an Audi TT.

Is that one that only goes fast when you drive it downhill?

I do love a challenge.

Lexus RC (500 with V8) offers an "H" option for those brief Eco moments.
MX5 2l with hardtop, light, fun, efficient.
BMW 1M beee-uti-fuuull 6 cyl.
Lotus spare part collection.

You are right, not a lot to choose from
