2 If the battery is AC coupled, you don't lose FiT.

I have an additional battery inverter.

Interesting I might look into that.

I would also but we don't (at the moment) get many power cuts

I refrained from that one, but did have a quick grin!

Think I will have to do the same, though like Ken, we don't get many power outages - yet!

Read the electric car post. The batteries also power the house for a short while when the sun goes down. Apologies to G. Michael.

Interesting numbers. I remember being told about a "black box" switch and whilst i thought it to be a good idea (£500?) i did not invest.
Our 4kw array generates 4150 to 4650kw per year (11.36 to 12.7kw per day ave). Best daily generation was 28kw.
Not trying to say mine is bigger than yours, just interested to compare.
Although a 4kw array we do have an inverter with mapping and it allows us to have 2 circuits. we have 13 x .25kw panels on the east facing roof and 9 x .25kw panels on the south facing roof. The inverter will limit the max generation to 4kw. I wish we could have 3 circuits so i could put some panels on the west facing roof.

Not all that difficult to "steal" some power. An old fluorescent tube will light up underneath power cables on pylons......there have been cases of coils buried beneath overhead cables powering more than you'd think.

Surely this would never be a viable option? How could it be charged (£££) for the service

Not this Peter!
Having had a really good look at one it is just too big.
I want a car the size of the CLC, an interesting 3 door hatchback with descent performance.
Seems there is nothing on the market other than perhaps an Audi TT.

Toyota GT86 ? VW Scirocco ?
