That's a bugger. I wonder if they could get it up to Bruntingthorpe, I bet they'd be happy as larry to give it a home, it could live with the Victor.

Very sad, I have enjoyed the beast taxiing on air days. Moving would I guess be very difficult unless you take it apart.

Give it to me I will stick it in the garage with the other stuff , might be a bit tight but at least it will be kept spotlessly clean . Anyone know where I can pick up a smooth cotton cover for it , along with some hands off do not touch posters dont want a finger mark on the body spoiling the glaze on the paint. Concours de Vulcan and you can bugger off with the Neoprene Dave when you visit.

That is bad news - I do hope they can find another home for it.
I wonder if JC Bamford has room for it - he has a flat packed Jumbo up there.

This is yet another story about bullying landowners wanting to be greedy. I have a friend who lives within walking distance of the airfield and the housing thing has been rattling on for years, but this seems so unjustified and simply crass.
Their intention is to get rid of the people and businesses on the airfield and let the place become derelict in order to re-try the planning permissions in a few years time.
In the meantime, real lives and real people become affected and all the efforts in preserving the Vulcan and it's history suffer.
Yet again faceless money shows it's uncaring and greedy side.
Disgusting.

Yes, sad about the Vulcan....but surely very sad for the loss of an historic airfield and the businesses that use it?

Yes, it's only 40 miles, by the time they had realised their 'error' it would be safer to put it down at Bruntingthorpe rather than trying to return Or they could just taxi it all the way - A429/A46/M6/A426. It would make a great spectacle, wouldn't it?
