It would still be cheaper to buy one here and ship it, if the prices on the web site are correct.

Ian, part of the expense as Peter says is getting an ADR compliance plate on it. Not just anyone can do this. Firstly they have to develop a template for your car model ( This is a list of what needs to change) min cost I have had for this is $5000. They then have to get all of the changes made and this could cost anything because only a "RAWS" certified workshop can do it and there are not many around. Then the taxes and duties are reasonably high. It is more the effort for the little savings that is the reason most people don't do it. The price of the newer vehicles second hand is not a lot over the price in the UK when you think of initial costs. Pre 1988 then that's a different story

Auster,
We take great pains to enjoy the great unwashed of the world do not see things to delight them while on holiday as it may encourage them to move here for good. Let me tell you about the Sharks, Flies, poisonous spiders and snakes, Blue ringed octupii, boxing kangaroos and the worst of all the Drop Bears.

Hope you enjoyed your stay. Had you come west we would have ensured you not only saw a Morgan but got to ride in a couple as well

If I may quote the great Sir Les Patterson......

"If I catch anyone knocking Australia's international reputation for refinement, I'll kick his teeth so far down his throat, he'll have to stick his toothbrush up his freckle to clean 'em"

Hi Digi, I was looking at the currency converter for the prices on the site linked too, I think it was £88,600 for a roadster which seemed a bit excessive when the Allon White price list starts at around £50,400.
Didn't realise there was other certification you guys had to pay for.
