I saw a modded M3W with a hinged bonnet somewhere and was wondering if they were on here, or if anyone else has done it. I'd like to use the front compartment for storage, but the bonnet as one piece makes it difficult.

I like the way the exhaust sort of follows the body there.

I know someone that had his M3W converted by a auto body shop out of Portland, Oregon. They did a nice job of it. But the cost is was $1,500 when I inquired🤔

Honestly I am sure it depends what material you have it made of as well. The factory bonnet is very heavy and a good amount of lightness could be added in that piece alone.

The bonnet itself is pretty light. Believe it or not, there is a lot of weight in the cowl and attaching hardware. I've just separated the two to have the cowl powder coated over the winter.
With the bonnet portion constructed of aluminum, there aren't many options to cut weight before adding that of a hinge or hinges.

I'd wonder about molding the both of them together and reproducing in carbon fiber.

Yes most of the weight is in the cowl which is made of stainless steel. I have seen the Swiss car in the pictures and the bonnet halves are very light.
