Age plays a huge part in shaping the view of 'what's special?'

I no longer want a 'supercar' having scratched that particular itch a few years ago. If I'm honest, I always felt a bit of tit driving them. Nowadays a 'special' car is an 'individual' car and my Morgan is that car for me.

I've just bought my wife a new car. It's a car. A tin box with leather seats and clever iPhone integration. A utilitarian transporter. Not special and not something you'd get any pleasure from looking at.

Well for my 2 cents worth, I have a tough time finding any of the modern cars (that are affordable) special. They all look like soap bars. They drive nice, lots of power and electronics. Because of my age I look back to 'special' cars. I enjoy my 55 Chevy. Not fast, but comfortable and fun to drive. I guess it is special because you don't see very many on the road.

The other special car is my 78 MG. Top down, still turns heads and a lot of kids ask me what it is. Other people my age say they had one and have very fond memories of it.

The last of my special cars is the 54 Morgan. 2 years in the resto, hopefully will be able to drive it this summer. I know the insides of this car intimately. Having never drive a Morgan, this will be a special car.

All my 'special' car are made to be driven. Just as cars should be.

Neilda. I hope that last sentence of yours refers to the car.

If not, you're in trouble.

Different to the daily box
An expression of your personality

Perhaps naughty in some way.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I realise the T5R was the model based on the saloon car racing success but the R was built in fewer numbers.

Because the T5-R kicked it all off - and was the only one available in "that" yellow and with "those" wheels (Pegasus). It was the genesis of the loopy modern Volvos and a yellow, manual, estate is going to cost a pretty penny now.

The R has the more powerful engine though
