My problem came back car won't start I think I have a ground issue don't know where to start looking

My problem came back car won't start I think I have a ground issue don't know where to start looking I think we might need a bit more info! I.e. Is the starter turning the engine over for a start? I suspect not if you think you have a ground issue?

Check the engine earth (ground) strap between the engine block and the chassis.

when I jump the starter it turns when I turn the key it just clicks

The click sounds like the solenoid activating. That is a plus at least.
How are the wiring connections to the starter....not just the earth?
The fact the starter turns when "jumping" should mean it is ok and the problem is elsewhere.
How fast does the starter/ engine turn when jumped? Does the engine start up and run?
Have you checked ALL the earth connections? Battery to ground, starter to ground? Try a long jump lead direct from battery neg to starter mounting bolt. That bypasses your existing earths. Don't use thin wire!!! Connecte starter end first before battery end! If the bypass cures then it is an earth problem.
No cure suggests ignition switch or wiring issues.

car doesn't start when I jump starter just turns but it hasn't been started in a while I going to try the neg ground test now

neg test still nothing installing new ignition switch tomorrow, I think my kid might have kicked something under dash because the car went from good to bad immediately
