It's sad to think that most,or all, of the 25 cars will be squirreled away and not used regularly. What a shame!

I agree that the likelihood of seeing one is slim as they are not road legal so can't go to classic meets unless in the back of a trailer Probably not allowed to race at Goodwood or Silverstone classic with their original siblings because of their newly created provenance After the track days have been taken that come with the purchase they will probably sit in a showroom or garaged collection for ever and a day Odd really I can't think even if the cost was small change to me, I wouldnt be bothered with this type of recreation I'd want something that could at least be driven on a road to enjoy on the odd occasion and would put my money towards a true racing classic

That to me is the sad thing about it all - I suspect it might be different were they allowed to race with their peers albeit with a handicapping system. They are things of beauty but very limited as to where you can enjoy it and it has to be trailered everywhere. I suspect the customer for these probably looks upon his wife as an investment and has chosen carefully before he "carcooned" her.

I was a member of OUMDC in the mid 60s when I was up at Oxford and I can remember Piers Courage joining us one day when the club hired Silverstone for what I guess would be called a track day nowadays. Not even sure it wasnt free then.
Anyway it was a pretty eclectic mix of cars with my Spitfire and at least a couple of Morgans plus Mk2 Jags etc though Piers turned up in his DB4 GT Zagato. Lovely looking lightweight thing no doubt bought with brewery money.
Poor lad didnt last long . Died aged 28. Wonder where his car is now. Wherever it is, it has to be worth serious dosh.

Will they be road legal? If so because of the continuation of chassis numbers, how would Morgan fare making an original,Plus 4SS with a spare chassis number from that era?

I remember him being a racing driver and his untimely death - I hadn't realised he'd had a DB4 though.
With that provenance it must be worth silly money.

Cash cows these heritage reboots. Wondered how the jag based DB Speedbacks were getting on - dont think they have started making them yet -looks a snip at £600k in comparison - not one for the purist I know but I wouldnt kick it out of the garage in a pique of puritanical Pagnall provenance. http://www.davidbrownautomotive.com/
