Depending on how you feel about replicas

AC Rep.
http://www.sovereigncarsales.co.uk/Replicas_Gridpos22.aspx

Cobra Rep.
http://www.sovereigncarsales.co.uk/Cobra_gridpos40.aspx

Went past this as I took the coupe into the garage behind this morning and it looks brilliant. Whilst a home built replica may have some real risk this garage has a lot of skill and their work is excellent. I have no association with them other than dribbling on their forecourt on a regular basis.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

If you dont like that Aston (to be fair they are pretty thin on the ground), you could try the new Mustang in GT V8 RHD form. For your budget it would be new or nearly new.
e.g. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/a...000&page=13

It's a shame that Jag dont do the F-Type with a manual.

Other choices are 911s, Boxsters, Z4s, and as already mentioned you could buy a brand new MX5 for your budget.

What about a BMW Z4? You'd get some change too for petrol or even an MX5 as well!

Good options shown above. I am guessing you are looking for a reliable car with "softer" as in less unique, characteristics. Cheap and easy to keep. The cars listed above (most of anyway) are good choices. Just be aware of owning "classic" types they can carry issues. Reliability for higher mileages, maintenance costs, rust,etc..Very nice to own but .......be prepared.
The replica route could be good. Last month on a run we were at Tintern Abbey. There was a stunning Cobra from AK there, one of the good manufacturers. A sensible way of owning a classic without the £££££ and with modern mechanics.

Mogs are still very high up the want list due to residual values , you just can't beat them , there are some great cars out there but how easy is it to shift them when you fall out of love ?

Suggestions, other than another Morgan!

Er , thinking , er , another Mog makes a hell of a lot of sense as you can't beat characterful , view down bonnet , sports exhaust sound , resale value , British , I could go on and I don't work for Morgan either - I've asked myself the same question !

What about a 911? You can easily get a low mileage 997 gen 2 within your budget.

MX-5 is hard to beat but if you don't mind a bit of depreciation you could do far worse than a Porsche Boxster.
