Going to try to have a drive this week, might have to take the 4/4 the clutch is much gentler than the +4.

Merry Xmas everyone and I hope you got at least some part of your dreams for 2016 and you accomplish some more in the new year.

Had an excellent blast around the North Cotswolds this afternoon - Evesham, Broadway, Stow then back through Ford, Stanway and Stanton.

A couple of other mogs out and about, a green trad on Evesham by-pass and a cream one just outside Broadway. No other classics about but got a friendly wave from a rather nice Cobra replica.

108 miles today around the by-ways of Northants. Came across the local hunt and one of their number waved us down to compliment the colour of my car and to tell us she had had a Morgan for years. Couldn't talk too long as I was holding up a farmer in a Land Rover behind me. Glorious Boxing Day weather. Those who lay up their cars for the winter don't know what they are missing.

Just back from a short blast around the local lanes, saw a BRG Trad at Blue Boy's corner in Minchinhampton, don't know if it was a TMer?

I have just finished a major service, including replacing the timing belt and camshaft sprockets, which is a bit fraught. On the VVT Ecotec engine, the cam sprockets aren't keyed to the camshaft, you have to line everything up and tighten the bolts to some humungous torque (65NM Plus another 135 degrees) to stretch the bolts and lock everything in place. It's a one shot deal, get it wrong and you have to start again with new bolts.

Fortunately I didn't cock up, and the car is running beautifully, so I'll be coming in it on Friday to the Greedy Goose.

cheers drive

Saw a Car SOS recently where Fuzz renewed an MX5 timing belt. He cut the belt in half along its length and removed half. Then put the new one on and cut the other half of the old one and pushed the new one into place. Clever!

Yes, SpannerJuggler taught me this trick a few years ago. I wasn't able to try it this time though as the cam wheels had to come off.

Another day in Paradise !!!..

Beautiful sunny frosty day in Yorkshire so atrip into the Dales was called for..

Bolton Abbey for coffee, then through Kettlewell onto Leyburn and stopped at Masham for typical Yorkshire high tea:
Yorkshire cured ham egg and chips followed by bread and butter pudding.

Great drive,roof off..only saw one other classic a Morris minor..we waved...how civilized !!

Had a look in a small antique shop in Masham and in the back room hidden away I found a shiney treasure !!!!
