There are about 31 million cars registered in the UK.
In the UK in 2015 2.6 million new cars were registered.
Even when autonomous cars become freely available what percentage of new cars will have them?
Only if fitment becomes mandatory will the number of cars with this feature become significant...and even then to get the majority of the fleet so equipped will take 7 to 10 years. Look how long it took to get ABS and Airbags on the majority of cars.
In my view without mandated fitment they will remain a minority interest and a curiosity.
