Finally fed up with the slow fuel fill up. So decided to take a look and see what I could do about it. After removing the rear panel and rubber pipe between the fuel cap and tank. Two hose clips and three nuts on the under side of the filler cap housing.  You can see its never going to be a easy fill up at that angle. So I trimmed 1/2 inch off the rubber pipe and replaced it attempting to get a straight an angle as possible.  Not perfect by anyones imagination but its totally improved the fuel fill up. Not perfect but almost normal. For a Morgan anyhow

Plus 8s seem to vary a lot in "fillability": Tarka is mostly OK.
It does seem to depend on the pump: I'm not sure why. Some I use allow an easy fill whilst others keep stopping or cause a blow back.
So does the customer "filling experience" depend on the care and attention of the person fitting the rubber tube? It seems to be that a few mm difference in the position of the hole in the rear panel could have a big influence on fuel flow through the filler.
Given the angle between the tank and the rear panel and the poor alignment between tank filler and fuel cap filler I wonder if a custom moulded silicone fuel hose of the correct angle help?

The Factory have a fix for this problem, no idea what it is though but worked on mine. Went from terrible to perfect!
Perhaps Mark Evans will enlighten us?

I would love a solution - it's my one bugbear with the +8 is the bloody filling up. Always a nightmare - no matter what I do. Peter G - has that made a big difference then? Was it moderately easy to do? I'm a little nervous about making mods.

I had the same issue on my plus 4 but I didn't need to cut the pipe. I loosened the lower jubilee clip and there was enough room to push the pipe down and ease the kink.

What's the other pipe for - the one that runs off at 45 degrees?
