I have a 1983 4/4 four seater fitted with Restall seats, I would like to change the front seats for more "modern " comfortable seats at a realistic price, is there anybody out there who can recommend a suitable alternative.I am not fussy on these weird looking seats from cobra etc, they might look OK in Golfs or cars driven by certain motor journalists but not in a Morgan. I know I'm restricted by width and that they must be able to recline and tip, as I said any suggestion would be most grateful.

The only alternative I can think of would be the more modern seats fitted to the post-2000 4-seaters, but I can't see them being very cheap.

Most aftermarket seats are too wide for Morgans, and you'd probably have to lose the recline/tilt.

You could try visiting Allon White and having a chat with Shaun Maguire, he'd probably be able to re-upholster your existing seats, and he does a brilliant job.

Some of the small Alfa Romeo leather seats might fit.

.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Try the MGOC. I guess MG Midget ones would fit.

It will be tight. Even Midget seats are quite wide.

There must be some Morgan seats on line somewhere from a write off.

This website seems to have a reasonable amount of choice.

I quite like these ones for Cobra replicas

I would imagine that some of the racing chaps will have spare seats stacked in the back room.

Interesting post this as my wife was just saying that the most comfortable seats we ever had in a Morgan were the Restall seats in our first (1976), 4/4. I think that they were Restall, the squab lifted out and the tools and valuables were kept underneath.

I will very shortly be "producing" in carbon fiber, seats that I made for my +4; The prototype was built specifically for my car they have fore/aft adjustment, no headrest and use my fabricated base for attachment. Modeled after early Alfa Spider for a comfortable touring type rather than the ubiquitous confining "bucket" style.
If there is any interest I can send photos.
Cheers
Barry
