From dim and distant memory of my last visit to Grindelwald (1984ish?) the centre isn't very big at all. I'm booked into Hotel Tschuggen from the Wednesday night through till the Sunday. I believe its about 300m from the Bernerhof. After the Treffen I'm looking at getting to Caramulo the next weekend on the basis that it's a really daft idea so well worth doing. Haven't started to look at routes but will have to at least sort out ferries/chunnel fairly soon. It would be good to,see you at Caramulo Callum! I'll be there competing with Mario and Gambalunga.....the more TMers the merrier! Must sort out accommodation and such things at Caramulo pretty damn soon as well as the scenic route from Grindelwald. I dare say I will have to have a run up the hill but I'm not planning on actually competing.

Entering will ensure your option for the hotel...it's worth it for that alone..! My"planning" is more at the good idea stage than anything detailed. I shall have a damn good look at the festival website tonight to see what the craic is...Via Google translate at a guess.

Hi, Yes, it's 3 separate daily runs starting and ending in central Grindelwald. The K&P and Bernahof are next door to each other and the Derby just across the road. All only a hundred yards or so from the starting point. FWIW the K&P and Bernahof are the most popular and the K&P bar the normal watering hole. The organised days are Thur - Sat but several of us will most likely plan to stay on for the Sun as well. This allows an informal "hoon" around after the main event. Last year a group of us managed to co-ordinate our journeys from the UK (and 2 of us on the way back). Nothing booked yet but probably leaving UK on Mon 28th with 2 night stops on the way down. This breaks the journey up into  friendly chunks!  Thanks Chris. This aligns well with our initial plans too, certainly in terms of the drive down there. We might need to bail on Sunday morning though, as the following week looks to be a bit busy, but I might look to book one of the hotels soon.
