I'm not very expert in electrickery, and have wired my driving lamps on my AH like so.. they work! and as I want them (on main beam only). Wiring wizards out there, any reason why this shouldn't be ok?? I don't want the loom to go up in smoke! (please excuse the very non technical drawing!)

Looks OK to me Steve, without knowing the pinout data for the relay. I can never remember which number goes where!

Thanks G, the packet the relay was in said :
30 supply 85 earth 87 accessory 86 switched live
I think I'm right but it wouldn't be the first time that those in the know say after a sharp intake of breath.. Ooh I wouldn't do it like that!
Funny but I'm happier doing plumbing, gas, fuel anything really but never comfortable with electric stuff. All a mystery to me!

Looks ok to me, Steve. Is there any reason why you didn't feed the headlamps from the relay as well? That way you have very little current going through the switch.

Looks good to me Steve. Mind you I have to say that as it's the way I'm wiring in my spotlights!

As Tim says I'd wire the headlamps through the relay to avoid any loading on the light switch.

From the relay upwards, it looks like a panicky frog.. It's connected to a battery. We'd all panic.
