I use e-bay a lot both to buy and sell (junk). You just need to use common sense. In fact I had a delivery of Tectyl 506 this week.

I use eBay rarely. I prefer to pay a little more and buy stuff through Amazon. If you get something you don't like or simply made a mistake in the order they refund you quickly with no ifs and buts.

I used to sell and buy using Ebay, but I feel has lost its way and is little more than a virtual car boot sale.

I use both... Yes, I'm often surprised at how expensive stuff is on eBay. I buy cartloads of stuff from Amazon, so the free delivery you get with the Prime subscription makes a big difference.

I also use e bay frequently, brilliant for selling unwanted items, there is always someone out there who will buy anything.
Good for buying hard to find used items, just need to be sensible, check for good sellers feedback and if the item seems too good to be true then avoid it!

Another regular eBay user  I pay by PayPal and the few problems I've encountered were dealt with very quickly.

I use both... Ditto although eBay, generally providing the wider choice, are usually cheaper. No issues with items direct from China either and surprisingly quick delivery which always beats the estimates.
