dont know whether you can still buy them but you used to be able to get temporary baffles to put in the ends of exhaust pipes They offer this at Goodwood. Personally I never fancied the idea - I'm not sure if increasing the pressure on the engine is a great idea.

Well in answer to the original question I have just returned from Krazy Horse where they did a sound measurement on the car using a Testsafe sound meter approx 0.5m from the exhausts at 4000 - 4500rpm. The reading came out at 107Db. Perhaps worth knowing for those side pipe trackday enthusiasts!

107dB is a ban at many tracks. https://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/ Click on a track to see the limit for most of them. Both the S2 with single sidepipes and Coupe with dual sidepipes have been black flaged. The Coupe is not often let out of the pit lane as you come out of the feeder compound. They both passed the MOT which always makes me laugh. Quiet enough for public roads and late nights but too noisy for a RACE track. I do feel a little tiny bit sorry for the neighbours. Just a little.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Just a little. Thanks Alistair - useful website. From my quick scan through it seems that Donington may be the only place to go in this country - which fortunately happens to be a cracking circuit. I wonder if anyone makes some sort of temporary baffle to calm the thunder by a handful of Db's.

Yes, Goodwood offer this.... wire wool poked up the exhaust. As I mentioned earlier, I'm always a little nervous that it creates additional pressure in the engine.

Going to krazyhorse on Tuesday morning for replacement heater switch so will ask them for a noise measurement .

Went to the VSCC Pomeroy today, and watched them noise testing the vintage crews. It consisted of a microphone shaped decibel meter gaffer taped to an extended car aerial. This was held at the end of the exhaust, one end of the aerial at the pipe, the other in the guys hand..
What I found most sad was the fact that Silverstone is the home of FiGP and has been for years, so if it was done to save the villagers it was a bit late..!!
I assume it was simply to please the MSA..
It all seemed a bit farcical really. Most drivers held a constant one third throttle for the test and then roared away in a cloud of noise and Castrol R fumes..
