Good news indeed. He just looks the part and has the gravitas.

I'm sure they're excellent at business but the current management line-up do look like 'men in grey suits'. Charles has the panache of the brand and the Morgan name (which is important in the continuity of the company and its image worldwide).

I sincerely hope they welcome him back and get him back on the stands where he can excel again. Whether popular or not with the new regime he is the face that future and past Morgan customers want to see .

Personally I think it is only long standing Morgan owners that care. “Do you suppose the world cares a tuppeny dam?”, I doubt it. Most of Morgan's production goes overseas and the fact that there is still a family connection and a direct male descendant may be interesting but is relatively unimportant to the buying decision.
I would say that most buyers buy a Morgan because it is a classic car made with modern reliable mechanics and they love the look of it. Sure to be introduced to Charles at a show might help the buying decision and give the customer a nice warm feeling but I don't think anyone buys a car, say a Ford, because they had once met a descendant of Henry Ford (they too still have shares in the Ford Motor Company).
My thought is that even the vast majority of existing Morgan owners around the world know nothing of this story.
Having said all that I too hope it all settles down and everyone finds a happy equilibrium, and that includes present and future Morgan car owners.
Peter

I disagree the American owners that have expressed sadness at the lack of his presence has been quite high. Buying a Ford, Maserati or Aston nobody is interested who has a presence in the company it is a different kind of purchase altogether in my view.

I've never met CM but I have his signature on my build album which I think is a nice touch
But in this day of Youtube videos, CM's voice and his confident charismatic presentation skills can be seen by everyone all over the world and there are plenty of videos on there for all to see
There is absolutely no doubt that CM speaking about Morgan is a huge asset however I can't see it happening again soon with this arrangement

I agree with Stuart and Jay's, Charles has a 25% share in the company, so of course he has to be invited to this group that represents the family interest. I don't see anything about him having any role beyond that. All of us may wish for more! Videos of Charles, especially him begging his employees to try to build one more car a week, were definitly part of my pre-purchase research!

I am wondering if the new management team are looking to promote a Morgan Brand utilising the history of the company. Being in a niche market lends itself to this. At TOTH last year in a chat with an MMC staff member he said they were undertaking a survey to get a better understanding of ownership of a Morgan by as wide a range of people as pissible. I haven't seen anything yet, mind. Having family members on board would seem to be a benefit. Never having met CM I can't comment too much but from comments by others there is a general positive opinion of him. OK details of the bust up are not known but I think if he agrees with the new management direction then he could be an asset. The expertise of the new people could be lacking a charismatic face. The family council idea certainly helps to keep the past traditions as part of the forward progress. It reminds me a bit of Howard's Way tv series involving a family boatbuilding company. No link to howard of TM intended! Let's wait and see.
