Took a the factory tour today and we were told by our tour guide that this is the new headlight configuration for all new U.S. bound 3Ws.

Looks like the lights block air flow over the cyclinders to cool the motor ?

The air will wrap around the lamps just fine. Only real improvement is that the turn signal lamps are forward and away from the hot pipes. May have more visibility from the side.
