Ooof, definitely no bueno. Looks like this will be one of the first things that needs remedied. Hopefully the brackets are still able to be sourced. I can't imagine ever getting popped for headlight spacing, or even having them fail you for inspection, unless you got some total nazi about it.

That location might be nice for some smallish fog lights, but I'd definitely be wanting to source the original bracket and reverse that change. Can anyone tell if the mounts for the original headlight brackets are still there or did they change that structure as well?

Front fog lights need to be low and on the outer corners of a car to light the kerb without flair. Main driving lights also need to be on the outer edges if the car to fully light the vehicles path and give oncoming drivers some indication of vehicle width. I discovered how relevant this is last night following a long positioning journey in a recently acquired 50 year old (headlights in grill) Land Rover, down dark country lanes blush

Quite how this particular implementation of new US regs contributes to safety in any way, I fail to see.

Many years ago I passed a car crash that killed 5 people. In the following days it transpired that a car with its right hand headlight broken was mistaken for a motorbike by a car coming the other way resulting in a head-on. It shouldn't have happened but it did and 5 men never made it home.

It's not to my taste but I'm not going to put it down in respect of those here that might end up with one and can't change it legally.

I doubt that the narrow spacing would be legal in europe unless its a tractor & they have wide spaced side lights. As others have said Wider spacing indicates the vehicle width & better light distribution.

I can see a market for small, white high intensity LEDs on the front mudguards...and a bigger cooling fan...

Another Morgan own goal. If I was a customer getting a different car configuration to what I'd ordered I'd be very annoyed.
