The old headlights? Disaster, its true, total disaster and we are going to make the Brits pay for them.

So the next step is Morgan will appeal, the US government will go okay of course it's a car, so we will apply all the car regulations to it. And then when that doesn't work they will seize all of our cars and crush them, of course not giving us any compensation because well it's the government. This is so asinine, how can they think those little lights in the center are safer?

Morgan really is stuck in a bad place, they are given this ugly picture by my government and forced to color inside those lines. What a horrible situation to be in.

I believe NHTSA's denial likely had as much to do with the process Morgan was using as the actual merit of the argument.

From the ruling: "An inconsequentiality petition is not the appropriate means to challenge the basis or appropriateness of a requirement specified in an FMVSS. The appropriate venue for such an argument is a petition for rulemaking to amend the current safety standard."

every vehicle has regulations in which companies need to color within lines. Not only the US, but around the globe. We all recall what Australia had to have changed in order to sell the M3W there.

In many ways, the M3W being a "motorcycle" is the only reason its able to be sold in the US. If it was deemed a "car" it would need airbags out the wazoo, crash testing, etc. The lights being slotted to the center is not the end of the world. Though, I presume it makes sense why the selfridge electric M3W had the lights in the center.

Bad legal advice. Did anyone notice this was filed in December of 2013? I'm wondering if Morgan has lost all the appeals at tnis point?

Just to recap, this is only for State side vehicles yes.

No changes to UK spec cars then.

Yes John, although now the light placement on the electric cars makes more sense. With the majority of production going to the States.
