It's not just the look that's been degraded in my opinion, as I was driving Mo today it occurred to me that one of the greatest things about the view from INSIDE the car looking forward is the headlights. I truly think it's a huge negative. Also, I'd be scared shitless driving at night having oncoming cars thinking I'm a motorcycle. Somebody's gonna get their front wheel taken off soon enough.

Exactly right. I just hope that the headlight is the same unit so it could quickly be converted to a safe position as long as one had the brackets.

I wonder if Morgan would be amicable to selling owners the brackets at not an absurd price. I saw someone listed the part diagram above. Anyone do any inquiring to the cost of them. If not I'll call them up and see, because that would instantly become the highest priority "option"

Ken, i TOTALLY agree with you, and others on the safety view. It is a MUST that a motor vehicle presents a visible image to other road users, particularly at night. So imho, if the headlights need to be in these positions then additional "side lights" on the mudguards are A MUST for the protection of the vehicle.....SIMPLES

Even in the UK headlight position, the wheels and mudguards are still unlit and the widest part of the vehicle. Potentially, it's the rearward aspect that is awkward as the two rear lights are only inches apart on the centre line.

The best solution is a front/rear LED light combo on the top of the mudguard, maybe.

These are legal in the US.

I don't think you could get the turn signal any closer than this...

Guess the question there is is the turn signal sufficiently bright to be seen over the headlight Either way, this is some seriously backwards thinking by the "safety goons" over here.

But yeah I also agree with Steve about some more visibility at fender width. One thought was to have some sort of old school fender license plate that incorporated some reflector or possibly a LED combo like he was saying. I kinda like the way these look, but it might just be too gaudy in actual application.



I do hope for some creative solutions to help remedy how "safe" the NHTSA wants to make us over here. If anyone does the twitty thing, feel free to express your opinions to them, for the little it's worth @NHTSAgov

I won't be re-arranging my headlights anytime soon, at least not until I get my first ticket
