I did a 70 mile drive this evening, car driving fine, no sign of any handbrake issues. When I got home I went to apply the handbrake & noticed that the chrome tip at the top was very hot, however lower down the arm it was relatively cool. The car did not feel like the handbrake had been on when driving
I had the heater on but am not sure if this would have caused the issue.
Any ideas please

given where the handbrake sits, it has to be the heater. There is no way that having the handbrake partially on would transmit heat to the top or even the bottom of the lever.

The heater could easily do this, especially if you had the blower on and the temp at max. Try a similar trip with the heater off and I expect it will be OK.

Ha! Went through the same process with my gear lever knob. Definitely the heater vents..!!

Presuming you're talking Aero not Roadster (?), Mine does the same! I put it down to the heat from that gearbox, it's a Morgan they all do that Sir!...

Mine is the same, if it was Porsche a heated hand brake grip would be an extra cost option!

It's an Aero 8 Series 1. An interesting point about the gearbox which had occurred to me, but I'd have thought the lower part of the handbrake arm would get hot as well if it was the gearbox

If the bottom is cool it will be the heater vents

Yes agree Ian! But it's a Morgan! Mine's an S1 too, I suppose they all do that.....
