There has been comment that the exhaust tailpipes on Tarka are not, how can I say this nicely, "grubby" and not in keeping with the rest of the car. So, as it is raining outside I thought I'd wash and polish them, and perhaps consider a "DW" style" inner paint job. First things first....cleaning. Getting the muck off is easy, but the backed on road tar less so. This is the result, first the near side: And then the offside: I thought about painting the inside black, but there is no obvious edge up to which one might mask, though it does look as if the inner was once painted. To refinish properly it would be necessary to remove them, and as they are also the rear mounting point it is a job for a ramp. So for now they are staying as they are!

I have a flexi driveshaft you could get a dremel like polisher on the insides if you wish to borrow it?
There again, it could be said, that you've removed the patina!

You need one of these!
Once polished, it's a good idea to seal the exhaust tips with a heat-resistant sealant or wax to help keep them clean.
