Has the poor potential owner come forward yet. It is RHD so very likely it was a UK buyer who was due his car in the next week or two. So someone somewhere will just have had bad news. Who? Good point , forgot it must be someones actual car ! I would be very upset ! Like the colour !

If it was a fault, better to have it happen at relatively low speed whilst under the factories care than at motorway speeds by the customer.

I'm sure it will be all sorted to everyone's satisfaction and in the meantime MMC will have to deal with a local red face and probably change their testing drive routines
Why should the factory change their test drive routines? There's no suggestion that the test driver was breaking any speed limit. . It wasn't a comment about speed at all, it was a comment about the report that implied the driver knew there was something wrong so turned into that road off the main test route. If I were MMC I would find out what went wrong, have a pretest inspection on that particular issue and make sure that if a driver senses something wrong that the car is immediately stopped for recovery In my business I work on a system that if it's gone wrong once, it can happen again however unlikely so you try to mitigate it by putting a system in to not let it happen again Hmmmm....in the two news reports I've seen there is no suggestion that the driver had pulled off the normal test route. There is a reference to a "test track" which implies off road testing...which Morgan don't do unless in development of a new model. Both reports are pretty speculative and it's wrong to make assumptions without the true facts.

Interview in the Metro ‘He said they were doing tests on a new car on the test track when they noticed a funny noise coming from the rear. Their test driver had taken it onto the road and somehow it had smashed into my drive.

Also, let's not forget that Bongo owners can be very passionate about their vehicles. There is an active owners club, regular meets and I know someone who is as enthusiastic about their Bongo as I am about my 4/4.

That terrible! Using Kaizen the phrase "They all do that Sir" would never be uttered again.  No, what you do is simply train your staff to substitute with the phrase "That's not a fault, Sir, it's a Design Feature"

When the RAC man wired my friends fuel injector pump into the sidelight circuit on his Defender, after a supply lead failure, I complimented him on a fine bodge. (Light on it will start, lights off it stops).
He was most put out. "That's not a bodge" he said.
"It's a temporary repair".
