Never understood the point of badges? How many other Morgan owners bend down to look at other owners badge bar ? I reminds me of the little cellophane triangles Dad stuck in the rear window saying which seaside town we had been to! You can only display so many anyway unless you put a bar on the rear! So the rest you buy stay in a draw or on garage wall Keep it uncluttered

My 4/4 has 3 badges, bumpers, but no extra lights. However each to their own, (as my old Mum would have said.) Also, Stewart, you are surely the style guru of TM, in the same way as DaveW is to neoprene or Graham to sausage rolls; so whatever you decide gets my approval!

I would say, a narrow Mog looks basically very good without anything added. If one wants to add something it perhaps could be a selection of spots, or bumpers.

It reminds me of an article I read once when the author was questioning why on earth would anyone want to make the front of their classic car resemble the shirt of a keen boy scout. That has stuck with me.

Whatever turns you on and if one day its nothing on the front and the next day its full on the front who cares as long as you are enjoying it.

I wouldn't call it clutter. The front of your car looks nicely busy. I like it. How many other Morgan owners bend down to look at other owners badge bar ? Other Morgan owners, maybe not. But members of the public, certainly. And that leads to the sort of friendly, interested conversations with which we are all familiar.

It reminds me of an article I read once when the author was questioning why on earth would anyone want to make the front of their classic car resemble the shirt of a keen boy scout. That has stuck with me. I find this kind of behaviour a bit depressing really (not yours, the original author), not only for the transparent clumsiness of the execution, but also for the fact that it's an increasingly common trope. It's a pretty cheap piece of linguistic legerdemain to seek to conceal one's own failure to be able to understand and appreciate the motives and subjective feelings of others though the creation of a pejorative simile. One can only imagine the author expects the reader to miss the admission of failure by the author due to being beguiled by the rather flimsy exhibition of literary dexterity. The result is a situation whereby those owners who rather like having badges on the front of their car are somehow meant to feel inferior, whereas of course it's the person who is unable to take an 'outside in' perspective and see the world through other's eyes that has the real inadequacy.

I was looking back at some old photos from when I first got the Mog nearly three years ago and comparing it to how it is now and I just wonder whether I actually prefer the cleaner look of the front end without the spots and badges I'm just wondering whether to de-clutter - what do my learn-ned fellows think ? This is a photo from when I first got the Mog, my only addition being the bonnet strap And this is how it is now ( just before I fitted the wind deflectors) You need to ask yourself "what is the fashion amongst Morganistas?" and I think you have already found the answer. Along with the WW2 flying jacket goes the bonnet strap and the badge bar to give the true period image. Less sure about big spotlights - they are more the fashion amongst the Escort Mk 1 rally types. Is that rust on your front bumper or reflection of tree leaves? I couldnt live with those wing mirrors.
