Congratulations!

I've drooled over the Pistonheads sales advert on more than one occasion. Certainly one of my favourite of late. You lucky man....

Hi all, my car has a luggage rack. Is it possible to take this off and put it back on when needed or is it bolted into an inaccessible place? Not with the car at the moment.

If the luggage rack and car are fairly recent and the car has a spare wheel, there are 2 bolts at the base holding the rack to the brackets plus a single fixing that uses the spare wheel mounting bolt.

Hi, no it's not got a spare wheel. But it's a new car. It seems to affix under the car and under the hood somewhere.

That looks very different to the fixings I am used to. Hopefully an Aero +8 owner will be along in a while to advise.

Easy to do - mine is without the rack 99% of the time.

Open the hood.
Release the hood catch (drivers side catch).
Lift the folded hood over the seats and don NOT drop it on the steering wheel (I've done this once on both Morgans I've owned).
You'll then see the two hex bolts holding it in place.
Remove these.
The rack can then be removed, there are no other bolts.

Get on to Simon at Mulfab who has designed a chromed piece that neatens the two prongs that remain.

Job done. smile
