BTW, another subtle change (or the try for a change) will be done later on. The second last picture of the car's front view was photographed by chance in an angle of light which lets the grill look somehow more sporty due to the bigger contrast between the bright looking grill and the (only in this pic) dark looking mash behind it. I prefer the sharper look of the grill without the mash on dark exterior colours but I decided pro mash because otherwise you may see the radiator and some other nasty stuff.

Therefore I will try painting the (demounted:) mash a little bit darker and matt but not in black...to give it the real look as in my pic.
The first press photos of the then new 4/4 sports in 2008 in black were very impact strong in my view because the grill (there without the mash at all) matched very well with the black car.

It is good to try out these options. thumbs

It is one I had not thought of doing, however I only changed the original covers on ours to clear.

The orange does look good with the grey Heinz.

I am in the process of going the other way (orange to clear), but I am having a spot of bother.

The rear was easy to do, but the front has turned problematic.
The original screws are too short with the new clear covers.

What I have found on Archie is three different screw threads across the front and rear.
Does anyone know a source of screws that are long enough and will fit the nut-widgets I have?

It's a right old carry on!

I've heard some have re-tapped the treads to a metric one and then use screws similar to used in plug sockets that are available in various lengths.

That's interesting Richard.
I tried some plug socket screws (for a laugh) and found that some of them fitted! Amazing.
But not all of them... banghead

My view is that clear indicators look good with some colours, less attractive wth others.

Tarka a a dark metallic bronze and they look great. I've even replaced the side repeater indicators (Fiat Barchetta) with clear lenses.
Aldermog, our Roadster, was blue/black and needed the yellow/orange colour, clear looked anaemic.

Question.... are these the same as land rover indicators? Or is that another myth?
