I thought that the BB overheating or running at way too high a temp was now a given/understood?
Am interested in the MMC or G56 "solution".
Hopefully in the not too distant future.

After a recommendation here I'm using silicone swimmers ear plugs. The do pretty well noise wise, but I have to readjust them too frequently. Thinking of going with custom fit motorcycle ear plugs.

Who wears earplugs? Mine earplugs seem to keep the bevel box noise out, but let the engine noise in. Noticed last night when I pulled an ear plug out to listen for noises before I got home. What kind of ear plugs are you wearing? Not Nick, but I always wear ear protection in Mo and on my bike. Already have tinnitus and preserving what's left! It's mostly wind noise you know... not exhaust. I have custom made plugs but have recently switched to the undisputed best foam plugs... Hearoes brand. They are more effective than custom plugs. The downside is they require a learned installation technique ( not rocket science), cost more over time ( you can reuse a few times), and may be illegal where you live. My Maryland does not allow them though custom plugs ARE allowed. I buy the box of 100 on Amazon.

The foam then to be difficult for me to fit on account of my one big ear hole. I have the best luck cutting them in half and using the fat end. Hearos says it is 4 db quieter, so I'll try them.
