My right hand exhaust pipe (passenger side in the US) broke cleanly in two at the front isolator bracket. A local shop that welds stainless is putting back together with no promises that it won't break in that area again. Before I mortgage the house to purchase a new pipe, I was wondering if any of you G56 folks might have a right side pipe cluttering up your garage? The M3W in question is a 2013 model with the polished stainless pipes. The broken pipe has travelled 22,000 reasonably trouble free miles to this point. Thx Roland in Mesa, Az

I have my original ones cluttering up my garage, complete with heat shields. I'm not sure how I would get one to you though, I'm in Belgium

Thanks for your response. I have had the pipe welded but considering it's age, you never know when it might let go again. If you would part with the pair, I would cover shipping and something for your trouble. Shipping would be to area code 85207 in the states. If you could determine what that might cost, we can talk (or pm).

Roland - just to say the Exhausts were modified in 2014 to 1.5mm from 1mm due to the number failing with cracks. Both mine failed and had to be replaced. Talk to the company you may get the new pipes discounted Rgds Mark

Hi Mark, The pipe that broke was a 1.5 mm pipe according to the data plate attached to it. The Morgan is a July of 2013 build and the pipe is original to the car. The added thickness helped in the welding process. Thnx, Roland

I had a broken pipe too, mid 2013 production. I exchanged both pipes for stage1 exhausts and I am very happy since. If you stay with originals: drill out the restrictions before fitting them to the car. The engine will breathe much better (but there will be more noise too)

The thicker modified pipes starting to sheer - this doesn't bode well!

Hi Mark, I was mistaken in my earlier post. The pipe that broke is a 1.5 mm pipe but is not the original pipe. I had an off road adventure in late 2014 that resulted in damage to the right side of the car and about six months at the dealers. I have just reviewed my photos and while the pipe did not appear damaged, the shop must have replaced it as part of the repairs. The car had about 7,200 miles on it at that time and just over 22,000 right now. This would be close to 15,000 miles on the pipe when it broke. The driver's side (left side) appears to be an original pipe of 1 mm thickness and it appears to still be intact. I really wish I could claim the little beast as a dependent for tax purposes.... my children were less expensive to raise....

It's a good job we love our cars eh! Noticed yesterday that I've got one split and one perished exhaust bobbin, there's so much lateral movement of the exhaust when unsupported just on tickover, no wonder there's issues with the pipes.
I saw your FB photos of the exhaust welds on the three wheeler page - lovely job carried out & great skill employed.
Tomorrow's job, new bobbins fitted.
