That puts me in mind of the Riddle of the Sphinx - a heavily paraphrased version of which could be "four wheels in the morning (of Life), two wheels at noon (of Life) and three wheels in the evening (of Life)". Although I guess not many of our number have progressed their transport in that order.

Any road up, 65 (picked it up the day after I retired). I never knew I wanted a Morgan, but then I'm very good at impulse purchases.

Like Steve I didn't know I wanted an M3W it just sort of snuck up on me.

My first +4 flat rad (LWK 517) was purchased when I was 20, and still at university. I had to totally rebuild wooodwork and mechanicals before it was roadworthy.

Great car that I do miss , now owned by Sid Madrid.

2 other +4s followed (both cowled rads, one was Daimler V8 engined when I bought it, but I converted it back to TR4 power, the other was purchased from Mike Duncan , the ex John McKecknie race car) before I joined the +8 fold in 2002.

Is this the car that raced in the 60's?

I was 65 when I bought my M3W 4 years ago and still enjoying it.

There were 2 Daimler V8 powered cars in the 60s . The most famous one was XRX 1, that was originally the Lawrence car that "replaced" TOK 258 in his stable , eventually it got bought by The Hon. Basil Fielding and his team inserted the Daimler engine with a lot of work and cutting of cross frame tubes etc. It went through James Henderson , who took it to South Africa , and then to Steve Spencer who even turbocharged it for a while . Via a complex route it came into the hands of the Kremers , who with BHM, ditched the V8 and went back to TR power in order to be eligible for historic events. This is the car they compete with today on the European historic circuit.

My car was originally a flat rad , that the owner wanted more torque for hill climbing in Cornwall and Devon, and he inserted the V8. In order to miss the steering column he inserted the unit at an angle , which meant the carb float chambers were always helplessly out, and I couldn't really afford to sort it properly. I did do a few races in the 70s with it , but it was terribly uncompetitive opposite TR powered +4s , the oil consumption required your own private oil wells, and it was a bit of pig to drive as nothing was really well screwed together. I ditched it for a TR3A unit which transformed it (and me) to some quite good results in the early 70s.

so many of you lucky devils had a Morgan so young; none yet for me...but one day!
