Well the MOG in at Richard Thorne big banging noise from rear when pulling away with gusto! Ok normally, thought might be belt but there mech says it's all tight! So he dropped oil out of BB all nice n clean no bits of metal or out else. So left it with them we wait for phone call☹ï¸

Hope it's nothing serious
Any chance it's related to the Ohlins?

It could be the prop shaft hitting the transmission tunnel due to axle tramp.
I had anti-tramps bars fitted to stop this.

Axle tramp on a M3W will be difficult to achieve but there have been a few who have had banging noises from the transmission. There was something about it on TM in August last year. Possibly related to the flex in the NVH kit mounts or the drive belt jumping a tooth or Centa compensator or......? Interested in their findings.

don't think suspension related, more drive chain i.e. bevel box, belt or sprocket. seems worse when pulling away and turning at same time like pulling out of a turning! doesn't matter left or right! its under warranty so we see what they find!!! The good old Morgan wait to hear again

I had anti-tramps bars fitted to stop this. [/quot M3W bevel box is stationary therefore prop shaft doesn't move, thanks for the idea though.

Ask them to check all the chassis around the BB - they have been known to crack /break and this could be the cause of that kind of noise.
Be interesting to know what - if anything - they discover.

Can be caused by a jumping belt as well if the belt tension is too loose
