One downside of living in WA (and some other parts of Australia, such as QLD) is the lack of DST.

We have the perfect place for summer evenings, but sadly darkness too.

What a total waste of time literally!

I work shifts and I welcome the lighter mornings for early shift.

Going to bed early when it is light in the evenings is counterintuitive plus the streets will be full of kids again making a racket while I try to get off to sleep!

When I am on late shift the lighter eveningsare of no benefit.

Driving E-W and W-E just doubles up the period when the sun is dazzling folks how exactly does that help anyone?

Never seen the need for it bah humbug......

So will mine - on GMT.
Won't care after Tuesday...

Why manufacturers can't fit clocks that take an off-air time signal (they cost peanuts) is beyond me...

Anyway, summer time is here and today is nice and sunny so the weekend warriors have come out of hibernation. The sound of screaming 4 cylinder bike engines with illegal open exhausts echoes between the walls. The riders flash past dressed in multicoloured leather baby-gros, sitting on their bikes like a frog with the runs.

We live at the confluence (?) of two biker rat runs.

A&E will be busy tonight. Happens every year when speed through the bends outruns rusty skills and cold tyres.
