AFR,
Thanks for your comments. I had a good drive in her yesterday. She certainly comes to life more when you flick the gearbox into manual but still missing the interaction of a clutch pedal. The noise is something I will always miss though evil

Ale_72 & Aeroman,
Yes - I did contemplate a Spyker. Very rare and unusual looking things. There was one for sale in the UK very recently but had been on sale for ages which put me off as being able to sell when the time comes is also a consideration.

A new TVR would tick all the boxes and that has been my long term plan but I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever happen. There have been a couple of preview events over the past couple of weeks for current deposit holders, although the feedback from friends that have gone is that this has largely been a huge flop as they still don't actually have a car - not even a prototype. Loads of arty sketches, ideas and a model of how the new TVR "might" look but no car!

The "new" Porsche 911 GT3 is a strong contender too being as Porsche have announced a manual gearbox.

I have driven a couple of McLaren's. While I'm sure they would make a fantastic track car for setting quick lap times, they did very little to excite.

I contemplated an Ultima but after driving decided it was a hugely capable and exciting track car but too fast and compromised for a road car.

My old Noble M600 was perfect although soon after purchase I discovered it was a pre-production prototype so was swiftly returned and has now appeared up for sale again. With just circa 25 cars been made to date, getting another might be a very long waiting game.

Are Ford GTs (either the one from 2005 or the 2017) out of budget?

Or as well an "enhanced" e-type (http://www.eaglegb.com)? Unfortunately only one below the 200k GBP tag price (and probably more difficult to sell than a Spyker)

Last crazy idea and then I go back to work.
Have you asked Morgan if it could be possible to retrofit a manual gearbox into yours?

Sadly yes - a Ford GT is out of budget. I'd also be put off with it being LHD and the width on English roads.

And Eagle E-type would be awesome but that stretches my budget a little too much frown

I haven't asked Morgan about a manual box retrofit and a friend suggested the same. I'll give Morgan a call in the week and see, although I'm guessing it would be a lot of work and I'd never see a return on the investment. Knowing the price they quoted me for a "new" series 5 Morgan with a boat tail rear end like a Supersports, I don't hold much hope - but worth a phone call at least.

Thanks,
Lee.

Ale_72,
I don't think you're missing much. The bag is actually canvas and not leather as I initially thought. It contains a wheelbrace and a jack - not much use in a car without a spare wheel confused2

My guess is that it may have been added along the way and never came with the car in the first place???

CIao, thansk!
No I am not missing that much, I do agree.
Is the bag in the same leather of the targa panel bags?
Meanwhile I am trying to find you alternatives for the car.
What about a retro project?

No - the bag is fabric (not leather like the hood bags)

I had thought about a rebuilt 911. We have another PS company in the UK who re-engineer 911s:
http://www.paul-stephens.com/autoart-overview/

I was very tempted. Nobody had a bad thing to say about the quality of their workmanship although the general consensus was that there are many other companies out there who would be able to do the same for half the price. This worries me if I had to sell!

Unless they do not "find" an owner for you I share your fear.
That car may be yours forever frown

PS Happy to hear that the bag is fabric. If it was the same leather at the end I'd have called to have it done. Now I can forget about that.
